Comparing Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus with other Samsung phones

If you have been following the Samsung phones for a while now and considering to buy one among the latest Samsung Galaxy 8 cell phones, then you can consider buying the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Having said that, let us understand what are the similarities and differences between these two versions of the same phone from Samsung’s own kitty.

  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is just an extension of the Galaxy S8 that comes with an additional feature of the ‘S Pen’ and an additional/ second camera.
  • Both have the same resolution (1440 x 2960 pixels) quad HD+ infinity screen display where the screen size of the S8+ is just one-tenth of an inch smaller than the Note 8’s screen i.e. 6.2-inch versus 6.3, which doesn’t seem too much of a difference when held in hand.
  • The S8+ weighs 173gms, which is lighter than the Note8 weighing 195gms. The new Samsung S8 is lighter at 155gms.
  • In one of the looping video drain tests, the battery lasted for 18 hours for the S8 Plus compared to 17 hours for a Note 8.
  • The core hardware remains as exactly the same across all the Samsung S8 series. They either have the Exynos 8895 (Europe & Asia) or Snapdragon 835 (USA) processor with 64 GB storage.
  • On the aesthetic design, the S8+ model is a more rounded phone and the Note8 is straighter with more harsh lines to accommodate the charging slot for the S-Pen.
  • While the Galaxy Note8 starts from $950 or $39.59 per month for 24 months, the unlocked version of Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus 64 GB costs $824.99 or $34.38 per month for 24 months when purchased through their website.

Having compared these two models, if you can really trade on with a single camera and do without the S-Pen, then you can go with the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus for a great bargain. Or else, if you are interested in additional features and want to go for these, then the Note series is the perfect pick.
